Waterbased Polymer Modified Primer for Self-adhering Membranes
SikaBit Primer AW is designed for use as a primer prior to the installation of self-adhering membranes. This thin solution readily penetrates pores and dries fast to provide a tacky, firm substrate for adhesion of the membranes. It is suitable for use over asphalt, wood, plywood, gypsum board and concrete surfaces.
Apply SikaBit Primer AW by roller or sprayer at a rate of 450 500 ft2/gal. Allow primer to dry one hour or until primer is slightly tacky. Drying time may be longer in cooler temperatures. Reprime if area is contaminated by dust or other debris, apply SikaShield S-60 as soon as primer is dry. NEVER apply primer directly to SikaShield S-60 membrane.
